NERIM Group of Institutions is affiliated to Dibrugarh University which is premier state Universities established by the Government of Assam in the North Eastern region of the country. The Dibrugarh University was established by the Government of Assam under Dibrugarh University Act passed by the legislative Assembly in the year 1965. The Universities have emerged as centers of excellence in Assam and have been playing a dynamic role in spear heading different courses towards the growing field of professionalism in higher education. The Institution has due approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Bar Council of India (BCI), and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for MBA programmes respectively.

Dibrugarh University is a premier teaching cum affiliating University in the North Eastern Region of the country. This University is the first to introduce 5-year integrated courses in Law in the State of Assam. It is situated at Rajabheta, five kilometres to the South of the Dibrugarh town and well connected by road, rails, air and waterways. The University has a vast sprawling campus (550 acres) set in bucolic and idyllic surroundings.
